1. Il Fiduciary License Agreement rilasciato sotto la GFDL/CC-by-sa
Rendere i progetti di Software Libero sostenibili dal punto di vista legale è via via sempre più importante. Ciò include sostenere la possibilità di rilicenziare, assicurare la compatibilità delle licenze, ed assicurare un chiaro diritto d'autore.
Il progetto Fiduciary Licence Agreement (FLA) della FSFE è un meccanismo di trasferimento del diritto d'autore modellato con cura per aiutare i progetti di Software Libero a consolidare il loro diritto d'autore su una singola persona od organizzazione.

Il FLA è stato originariamente sviluppato e rilasciato nel 2002 con una concessione per permettere a tutti di usare l'accordo per i propri scopi. La FSFE ha rilasciato ora una nuova revisione del FLA sotto i termini di una doppia licenza GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) e Creative Commons Attribution/Share-alike (CC by-sa).
Ogni progetto può scegliere se far domanda di far parte del Fiduciary Programme della FSFE e far uso della struttura legale della Freedom Task Force o adattare il FLA per consolidare il diritto d'autore nella propria organizzazione usando i propri esperti legali.

2. La FSFE annuncia una grande lotteria tra tutti i Fellow
Come ha fatto gli anni scorsi, la FSFE vuole ringraziare tutti i Fellow per il loro supporto, che è essenziale nel rendere possibile il suo lavoro. Per questo scopo, varie aziende hanno donato hardware e libri per la lotteria 2007 della Fellowship, che si terrà il 1 aprile 2007. La FSFE vorrebbe ringraziare tutte le aziende che hanno donato i gadget ed è felice di assegnare questi regali ai suoi sostenitori.

3. La FSFE al FOSDEM a Bruxelles (Belgio)
Come gli anni passati, la Free Software Foundation Europe è stata presente con uno stand al FOSDEM, una delle più grandi conferenze sul Software Libero in Europa. Quest'anno, la FSFE ha condiviso lo stand con la sua organizzazione associata spagnola, la Free Knowledge Foundation.
Shane Coughlan ha presentato la Freedom Task Force in un intervento lampo, e Georg Greve ha tenuto l'intervento finale dal titolo "Beyond GPLv3". Un sorprendente numero totale di venti membri e volontari della FSFE si sono divisi il lavoro allo stand, risposto, e parlato alle persone interessate.

4. Ciarán O'Riordan al SkyCon a Limerick (Irlanda)
Ciarán O'Riordan ha rappresentato la FSFE in una conferenza informatica chiamata SkyCon. Ha parlato sulla GPLv3, presentando lo stato attuale ed il lavoro futuro.
5. La fine dello stage di Maria Luisa Carli
La prima stagista della FSFE nell'ufficio che ospita a Zurigo la FSFE e la Freedom Task Force, Maria Luisa Carli, ha dovuto tornare in Italia subito dopo il FOSDEM per finire i suoi studi con un corso aggiuntivo. Marilu intende comunque restare coinvolta nelle attività della FSFE.

6. Le settimane di Murphy per l'amministrazione del sistema informatico
Febbraio è stato un mese nero per l'amministrazione del sistema informatico alla FSFE, cominciato quando uno dei server centrali è andato giù per un doppio crash dell'hard disk nell'array RAID-1 del sistema, seguito da una quasi simultanea interruzione di rete dov'erano i backup, rendendo tutti i backup inaccessibili.
Questo non ha fatto cadere solo il sito web principale della FSFE, ma anche quello della nostra organizzazione sorella Latino Americana, che stiamo supportando con un server virtuale. Con un po' di lavoro siamo riusciti a riportare le cose ad uno stato operativo su un'altra macchina, e se tutto va bene riusciremo a riportare in vita presto il server crashato.
L'infrastruttura della FSFE è organizzata principalmente in maniera volontaria, compreso il portale della Fellowship, la futura evoluzione del quale è rallentata principalmente dalla mancanza di tempo di amministrazione e sviluppo. 7. Attivati: Unisciti al progetto SELF!
SELF (Science, Education and Learning in Freedom) è un progetto nato per sviluppare una piattaforma per la condivisione e la creazione collaborativa di materiali liberi d'insegnamento sul software Libero e gli Standard Aperti. Cercherà anche di riempire questa piattaforma con qualche materiale iniziale. Il progetto è finanziato dalla Commissione Europea per un periodo di due anni, dall'estate del 2006 all'estate del 2008.
Durante i primi sei mesi, l'attenzione è stata focalizzata sull'analisi del materiale esistente. Ora, la fase dell'implementazione è partita, sia per la piattaforma (sviluppata al Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education a Mumbai) che per la conversione del materiale esistente.
