1. Assemblea generale a Vienna
Il 7 maggio 2005, l'assemblea generale della FSFE si e' riunita a Vienna, per rivedere le attività dell'anno passato e per pianificare quelle previste per il prossimo. Poiché si era alla conclusione del secondo mandato elettorale per il comitato esecutivo esteso della FSFE, il comitato stesso ha presentato il proprio rapporto esecutivo del biennio. L'assemblea generale ha ringraziato i membri del comitato per l'eccellente lavoro da loro svolto nei due anni passati ed all'unanimità ha rieletto l'intero comitato esecutivo esteso.

2. Iniziativa "Access to knowledge" (A2K) a Londra
L'iniziativa A2K pone le sue basi nel dibattito continuo di una riforma della WIPO (Organizzazione Mondiale della Proprietà Intellettuale) delle Nazioni Unite. Il 12 e il 13 di maggio, rappresentanti di varie organizzazioni civili, università e governi, così come gli attivisti indipendenti si sono incontrati per discutere un possibile trattato per "l'accesso alla conoscenza" da proporre a livello delle Nazioni Unite. Georg Greve ha preso parte al meeting per FSFE ed ha fornito input su argomenti come il software libero, i brevetti sul software e gli standard aperti. Ha anche presieduto la sessione su "Autori ed esecutori". Il trattato proposto da A2K sarebbe una pietra miliare nella trasformazione della WIPO in una "Organizzazione Mondiale per la Ricchezza Intellettuale".

3. Liste di discussione in lingua rumena
Dopo aver tradotto in rumeno molte pagine del sito Web della FSFE, Adi Roiban si è offerto volontario per gestire una lista di discussione in lingua rumena sul software libero (fsfe-ro at fsfeurope.org) ed una sul software libero nella formazione in Romania (edu-ro at fsfeurope.org). La FSFE è felice di ospitare queste liste, come qualsiasi altra lista che abbia come argomento il software libero.

4. LinuxWorldExpo a Milano
Molti membri del team italiano della FSFE erano presenti al LinuxWorldExpo a Milano. Stefano Maffulli ha tenuto un discorso sulla Fellowship e ha partecipato ad una tavola rotonda sugli standard aperti e il software libero. Alessandro Rubini ha parlato di "Violazione di licenze e mancanza di documentazione" e ha presieduto la sessione dedicata ai sistemi embedded. Emmanuele Somma del team italiano ha parlato di adozione del software libero nelle istituzioni finanziarie e Free Ekanayaka ha presentato il progetto Agnula. Grazie al lavoro dal team e dei volontari italiani, è stata raggiunta la cifra più alta di donazioni mai registrata in ogni altro evento italiano.
5. Linuxwochen Wien, Vienna
Linuxwochen Wien (Settimane Linux a Vienna), è l'evento sul software libero più importante dell'Austria ed ha avuto luogo il 24 - 27 maggio. Il 24 maggio Karin Kosina ha aperto l'evento con una relazione, mentre il 26 maggio ha tenuto un discorso sull'importanza del termine "software libero". Il 25 maggio Georg Greve ha tenuto l'intervento di apertura della giornata dedicata a "B2B e pubblica amministrazione". Entrambi hanno anche preso parte a parecchie discussioni in programma nella manifestazione.
6. Conferenza sui brevetti software a Udine
I membri del team italiano della FSFE Stefano Maffulli, Alessandro Rubini e Fabrizio Veutro hanno partecipato come oratori ad una conferenza sui brevetti software organizzata dall'università di Udine. L'evento è stato organizzato da membri del personale dell'università per arginare le spinte verso l'estensione illimitata della brevettabilità durante le attività universitarie.
7. Alessandro Rubini a Bologna
Il 20 Maggio, Alessandro Rubini ha parlato a Bologna, in una lezione organizzata dal Prof. Renzo Davoli nell'ambito del "Master in Tecnologia del Software Libero e Open Source", sui modelli economici dello sviluppo del software libero.
8. FSFE molto attiva a Bruxelles
Ciaran O'Riordan, rappresentante full-time della FSFE a Bruxelles, sta ancora lavorando a stretto contatto con FFII sull'argomento dei brevetti software. Ha incontrato molti membri del Parlamento Europeo ed ha avuto buoni contatti con la stampa, ad esempio con la rivista tedesca Spiegel e il Wall Street Journal Europe. Ha anche organizzato un Freedom Party il 2 Giugno dove i fellow della FSFE e altri amici del software libero hanno potuto incontrarsi e festeggiare insieme la libertà digitale.
9. Freedom Party a Berna
Guglielmo Tux, l'organizzazione associata con FSFE, ha organizzato il primo Freedom Party svizzero a Berna il 21 Maggio. La festa, anche se piccola, ha richiamato circa 25 persone provenienti da ogni angolo della Svizzera. Myriam Schweingruber, presidente di Guglielmo Tux, ha spiegato il lavoro della FSFE e ha presentato la Fellowship e la sua CryptoCard. Alex Schroeder, vicepresidente, ha ricordato l'importanza per gli svizzeri, anche se non fanno ancora parte dell'Unione Europea, di collaborare attivamente con la FSFE su importanti argomenti come i brevetti software, il monopolio del software proprietario e molti altri.
10. FSFE cerca un nuovo stagista
Lo stagista della FSFE Karsten Gerloff ha appena iniziato il suo ultimo mese di collaborazione. La sua attività consiste nel gestire molto del lavoro di ufficio della FSFE, promuovere la Fellowship e assistere Georg Greve nell'ufficio di Amburgo, e spesso anche durante i suoi viaggi. La FSFE sta cercando qualcuno che gli possa succedere appena possibile.
