funderar på vägar att stoppa OOXML i dess nuvarande form.
Om MS kan sända representanter till SIS och andra lokala organ, borde väl vi också kunna det.
Finns det någon strategi?
Just nu håller jag på att informera mina översättarkolleger runt om i världen om vad OOXML egentligen innebär (t. ex. defective by design-genomgången), och har redan fått respons med frågor om vad vi kan göra åt saken rent praktiskt.
Som översättare sitter man s. a. s. längst ut i änden av piskan, med krav på 150% dokumentkompatibilitet. Nej, jag skojar tyvärr inte, 150% är en rimlig uppskattning, så vi som yrkesgrupp har mycket att vinna på att förhindra en förvärring av situationen.
Vi har ju dessutom ofta internationella kontakter och kanaler till varandra, så det går lättare att koordinera. En hyfsad andel av oss jobbar med localization, och somliga av dem har med lite tur extra kanaler att påverka igenom.
Väldigt många av oss är frilansare, och har därmed företag som ev. skulle kunna gå med i standardiseringsorgan. I bästa fall skulle man kunna få yrkesförbund att kliva in.
Jag är inte så insatt i hur SIS jobbar, men kan tänka mig att med visst stöd gå in och försöka påverka den vägen. Saknar tyvärr resurser och tid att göra det på egen hand f. n..
