Campaign launch - ---------------
Campaign launch is planned for 4th November. Below are campaign 'modules' - groups of independent campaign activities.
Social media messages have already been prepared and translated to German and French. Enough messages exist for automatic posting one per-day for at least 6 weeks.
The campaign website is close to completion and should merely require tweaking. There are multiple contributors, and code and translations are publicly hosted.

Postcards ~~~~~~~~~
Paper postcards will be printed to promote the campaign goals and website. They will be given to partners and distributors, with a focus on putting them in bars and public places with existing postcard racks. The postcard design will be humorous to encourage sharing and posting. Exact message has yet to be determined, discussion and drafting has already taken place.
Stickers ~~~~~~~~
"Freedom not included" stickers will be used to label products that contain digital restrictions, e.g. blu ray disks, computers with non-Free OS preinstalled, DRM'd ebook readers, etc.. Stickering will be a fun & competitive activity for teams to engage in. Potential for pictures and videos of stickering for social media. Stickers will be sent to partners and distributors. Multilingual design is currently near completion.
Dispatch to partners and distributors ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Packs containing campaign materials, including stickers and postcards, will be sent to NGO partners and participating universities.
Digital vintage postcards - -------------------------
Spoof vintage postcards depicting tech being marketed with over-eager promises, including captions selling restrictions and if they were benefits (e.g. "protects you from running apps that don't make us money"). These will be distributed unofficially on social networks with links to the campaign website to generate interest and humour.
Unconfirmed / unbudgeted modules - ----------------------------
Infographics ~~~~~~~~~~~~
One professionally designed infographic will be designed to be spread on social networks. It will be long and narrow to fit SM feeds. It will contain statistics about the impact of digital restrictions on society, e.g. the amount invested in DRM technologies, the amount consumers spend buying the same media twice due to region and device locking, etc.
Cartoons ~~~~~~~~
Two professionally illustrated cartoons will be prepared for publication on social networks. They will depict different scenarios of people encountering frustrations with restrictions, finding alternatives, and freeing themselves by switching to better software / devices. They will be humorous to encourage resharing.
DVD cases ~~~~~~~~~
Attractive 'TheyDontWantYou.To' DVD case artwork will be prepared. Information about the campaign and digital restrictions will be written and designed to go inside the cases. A few DVD cases will be prepared as examples to start a crowdfunding campaign to fund the manufacture of several thousand more cases. The purpose of the cases is to be distributed to high-street DVD/Blu-Ray retailers, and left in-store for customers to pick up and take. Each donor would receive some DVD cases themselves and donate enough to manufacture more for FSFE to distribute.

Please keep in mind that it takes 10 working days from the day the design is decided until delivery of printed material!
If you like to spread the material to some partners before the campaign starts, count another week for delivery from here to them. that means all designs should be ready by October 11 to start the campaign on November 4th.

We have two who I've been in contact with recently, and another two from last year. We also have two recently confirmed distributors, and another two from last year. I have not focused on coordinating with partners early on in the campaign this year, because last year the launch was delayed and so raising expectations too soon again would not be a good idea.
However we agreed a deadline for firming up partner relations by the end of this month and I view that as a good target. You can see that task and its status on TaskFreak [1].

thanks for the overview. This looks quite good so far :)
Like Erik, I'd most like to know what our status is regarding partners. I discussed this campaign with EFF last year - are they still on board? Who else is? Have you talked to FSF's campaign team?
Please make sure to allow enough time to produce and distribute materials. Basically, you'll have to start production about now in order to have everything distributed to the partners in good time for the launch.
