Hi all,
I've started collecting budget cost forecasts so we can get to a solid total figure for running tdwyt this year.
It's here:
https://public.pad.fsfe.org/p/tdwyt-budget-forecast
Feel free to extend it :)

Hi Sam,
I notice that there's money allocated for 'design' and 'illustration' costs.
Do we not have designers and illustrators who are both competent and willing to work for free, or have I misunderstood these figures?
Kind regards, Chris

Good question. Basically the answer is "no", judging by recent experience. We have a few good volunteer designers, but over the last years its typically not been possible to get designs done in a timely manner.
It's difficult getting high quality work for a specific project in a reasonable time. That's why I budgeted in design money, so we can pay someone who works professionally and reasonably request tweaks and improvements after the initial drafts.
I also have done design work in the past and people have generally been happy with the results, but I don't have much time left after the other FSFE work I do.
Best,
Sam.

I see. I can appreciate that this would be a problem, what with everyone very kindly volunteering their time in the face of the various commitments (such as work, caring for family, studies, etc.) that we all have. Time is a very precious asset to have!
Please let me know if there are any opportunities for help you save on costs with design work, I'm very interested in doing what I can to support this cause.
