wirklich schade dass es nicht geklappt hat.
die erste inputs uber diese veranstaltung waren sehr vielversprechend! (https://lists.fsfe.org/pipermail/zurich/2016-February/001301.html)
es waren -- mmn -- die richtige fragen.
ich mag mich aber nicht daran erinnern, dass sie irgendwann geantwortet wurden.
ich probiere, als vergangenheitsbewältigung und vorbereitend zum LPD in zürich, wieder zu fragen:
- mit wem möchte die FSFE-ZH am LPD sprechen und - was möchte sie dort erreichen?
einfach etwas organisieren, und hoffen dass die leute dann kommen, weil freie software gut ist, reicht heutzutage wahrscheinlich nicht mehr.
warum meine ich das? hier ist die liste der veranstaltungen - in zürich - diese woche - die mit freie software zu tun haben - wo ich angemeldet / interessiert bin :
- OpenTechSchool Zurich, Learning C++ as a beginner (9 angemeldet: so viele wie beim LPD BS...) - Zürich ReactJS Meetup, Real-Life React: Tools & Techniques (42 angemeldet) - Zürich C++ Meetup, Datamanagement with the Object Database (21 angemeldet) - Zurich Python User Group, Type Hints in Python 3 (55 angemeldet, +waitlist) - Launch of the Interactive Data Visualization Learn Group (~20 angemeldet) - Firefox Hackathon (12 angemeldet; ganzer tag) (und dazu gibt's noch CCC, IOT, SGMK, fablab mit zum teil wochentliche events)
meistens wird in diese treffen freie software als selbstverständlich -- sogar als "battery included" -- verstanden.
and now for something completely different.
vor ein paar monate wurde zwei stunden lang über "high performance multithreaded c++ programming" (o.ä.) in höchste qualität referiert (der raum war voll und "ausverkauft"! gratis bier war vorhanden aber nicht der grund dafür), und irgendwann merkt mann, dass (fast?) nur freie compilers in fragen kommen und die vorgestellte lösung (die das ganze finanzsystem der schweiz futtert) läuft -- klar, oder? -- auf eine linux machine. es wird nur knapp erwähnt, kein "oooh", kein "windoof" weit und breit. und die vortragende mussten sich entschuldigen, als sie zugaben, dass sie ein unfreie debugger brauchen.
und ihr mögt euch allen erinnern, dass stallmann den raum an der ETHZ und im colab locker füllen konnte! sogar der tagi hat sich dafür interessiert! freie software ist sexy. oder kann sexy sein. auch in birkenstock, fettige haare und zähennägel kauend...
ich bin überzeugt, dass die FSF(E) ein platz in unsere gesellschaft hat. ich fürchte aber, dass die veranstaltungen spezifischer werden müssen (nein, es reicht nicht ein paar alte laptops mit linux aufzustellen... RMS im raum zu stellen reicht aber! es kann aber nicht die einzige lösung sein...) und jeweils ein spezische konzept braucht, wer und wie "angelockt" werden soll. ihr (ja, ich mag euch! bin aber nicht teil davon) musst mmn euer publikum neu kennenlernen...
also: back to the roots:
- was für ein publikum wird am aktionsmonat mai anwesend sein? - wer (davon) wollt ihr ansprechen? mit welcher message? welche ziele? - wer (dazu) möchtet ihr dort anziehen? wie?
konzeptlos in der "ecke" zu sitzen, hat dazu geführt, dass im vollen impacthub-raum nur eine (sorry, nach unten gerundet) person sich für den fsfe-stand interessierte.
und, als krönung dieser email, würde ich schon dafür sorgen, dass hier https://aktionsmonat.ch/programm/urbanes-wachstum/ das LPD am 7. mai erwähnt wird...
ich bin nun fertig, kehre in meine höhle zurück und danke dafür, ungefragt mein senf dazugeben zu dürfen...
