Ich beginne hiermit die Diskussion über eine Veranstaltung dieses Jahr, die wir organisieren würden. Analog zu der Ubucon.
Ich kann einen grossen Teil der Organisation übernehmen, brauche aber sicher auch Unterstützung Eurerseits.

Wollen wir überhaupt eine Veranstaltung organisieren?
Wer hilft mit?
An was für `Kundschaft' richtet sich die Veranstaltung? Was ist dementsprechend der Inhalt der Veranstaltung?
Wo?
Wann?

Letztes Jahr habe ich es nicht geschafft, aber vorher bin ich ein paar Mal ans OggCamp [1] in Enlgland gefahren. Der Anlass ist eine Mischung von Unconference und Konferenz. Ich finde das Format noch ansprechend:
* Im Voraus werden ein paar Keynote-Speaker gebucht, welche im Programm erscheinen.
* Es stehen ein paar kleine Räume und grössere Räume zur Verfügung. Die Teilnehmer schlagen vor Ort kurze Vorträge vor, welche sie gerne halten möchten und jeder Teilnehmer kann dann Abstimmen, was er hören möchte. Das Programm wird sozusagen on-the-fly zusammengestellt. Wie eine Unconference halt. [2]
* Es gab einen Raum mit Ständen von Organisationen und eine Bar für den Abend.
Ich finde dieses Format noch passen für einen FS bezogenen Anlass, weil es den Austausch unter den Teilnehmenden anregt. Vielleicht wäre das etwas für diesen Anlass.

Für eine Veranstaltung wäre ich auf jeden Fall zu haben, nur habe ich im Bezug auf die Idee und das Protokoll noch ein paar Fragen:
- Eine Ubucon findet dieses Jahr nicht statt? - Soll das Event ein FLOSS-only Event werden oder kann/möchte man auch themennahe Sachen einbinden (Linux, LibreOffice etc.)? - Hat man darüber gesprochen, ob man zum Beispiel nicht eine Ubucon in das eigentliche Event als Coevent integrieren möchte? Dann hätte das Event auf jeden Fall schon Fleisch am Knochen und man würde im gleichen Zug eventuell auch Linuxneulinge und potentielle FLOSS Interessierte ansprechen? Eventuell könnte man da auch TheAlternative ansprechen, da sich diese momentan auf Linux Kurse fokusieren und je nach dem etwas beisteuern würden? Grundsätzlich wären Partner eine gute Sache, damit man den Umfang des Events stärken könnte.

Wir sind völlig offen, was wir machen wollen. Darum mein initiales Mail, um Themen zu sammeln.

Falls wir etwas ähnliches wie die Ubucons der letzten Jahre machen möchten, schlage ich DigiComp in Basel als Veranstaltungsort vor. Mit denen haben wir bisher gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Die Räume liegen direkt am Hauptbahnhof in Basel. Ich habe gute Kontakte zur Digicomp und könnte mit ihnen sprechen ob wir Räumlichkeiten für einen Samstag bekommen können.
Bezüglich Inhalt und Kundschaft würde ich mich auf die Masse fokussieren damit auch genug Leute kommen. Die Vorträge müssten dann die üblichen Anwendugsfälle für Jedermann abdecken: Office, Multimedia, Kommunikation, Games, verschiedene Desktops, evtl. Mobile. Bei den letzten Ubucons haben wir Mittags angefangen, ca. 7-8 Vorträge gemacht und danach einen Social Event.
Falls wir das machen wollen, brauchen wir ca. 7-8 Leute die aktiv mitmachen und jemanden der die Koordination übernimmt.
Beim OSSanSchulen helfe ich auch gerne mit.

In dem Fall würde sich ja vielleicht als Thema "Der Standard-Desktop mit Linux" anbieten.
Mit Standard wäre dann Web, Mail, Termine, Office und eventuell Verschlüsselung gemeint und zeigen könnte man das mit verschiedenen Desktop-Umgebungen.

So wie es aussieht, gibt es ein Interesse an verschiedenen Veranstaltungen (OSS an Schulen, Ubucon). Elias, du könntest doch eine Seite im FSFE-Wiki erstellen um die Details zu planen.
Für die Ubucon brauchen wir aber einen besseren Namen, Ubucon finde ich zu Canonical-lastig.

Für die Ubucon brauchen wir aber einen besseren Namen, Ubucon finde ich zu Canonical-lastig.
Ich finde Ubucon gut. Mit dem Namen können viele etwas anfangen und er ist mittlerweile in der Schweiz etabliert.
Es spricht ja auch nichts dagegen, dass Debian-Leute was an einer Ubucon machen. Axel hat ja auch schon einen Talk gehalten.
Eventuell ist das Niveau für Einsteiger aber etwas niedriger anzusetzen.
Es gab ja auch mal die Idee, einen technischen und einen nicht so technischen Track parallel laufen zu lassen.

P.S.: Ich wäre auch froh, wenn's kein distri-spezifisches Event ("Ubucon") wird.

Mitmachen beim LPD finde ich auch gut. Mir ist nur nicht klar ob in Zürich (Revamp) oder in Basel (Digicomp). Von Digicomp habe ich bisher noch keine Anwort auf meine Raumanfrage erhalten. Ich werde nochmal nachhaken.

Ich wäre sehr dafür, solange der Termin nicht bekannt ist kann ich aber keine Teilnahme garantieren. Ich fände es gut wenn die Vorträge aufgezeichnet werden könnten.
Klassische Vorträge funktionieren wohl immer. Vielleicht könnte man ja aus anderen Aktionen wie eben z.B. OSS an Schulen Vortragende bekommen. Ein Lehrer der darüber vortragen würde wäre sicher interessant.
Je nach Motivation und Räumlichkeiten könnte man ein "OSS an Schulen" Tag sogar am Event durchführen.
Wenn man sehr viel Platz hätte könnte man sogar dritte wie Revamp-IT einladen.
