Not only GNU programs. The Linux kernel is not GNU, nor are Apache, KDE... 
and many other significant programs. Some may have been written with a OpenSource motivation,
but that does not make them non-free. 
(Many OpenSource projects use the GPL and Linux is case in piont).

could be good when they realise they can use Gnome Office or KDE Office instead of 
paying for Corel or Applixware. Ditto Databases, use Postgres or MySQL can replace Oracle etc..
This is a good time to emphasise the functionality of a 100% free system.
