[Fsfe-ie] UK govt adopts open standards

Looks good from a brief skim:

The United Kingdom government has formally adopted the open document
format (ODF) as the standard format for government documents.
a decision to go with ODF means citizens can get their hands on free
software designed to work with ODF, rather than having to purchase
commercial products.

The rationales on the UK government site are in terms of 'free as in
beer' rather than 'freedom', but the end result is still good.

Is anybody pushing this kind of thing in Ireland, do we know? Is this
within Digital Rights Ireland's remit?
