For the FSFE they don't want you to campaign they are looking for
examples of digital restrictions which have been noted in the past year.
Anyone got any to add, see below. I am sure there are some great ones of
late!!

Subject: [Tdwyt] Even more restrictions

Hi all,
For the campaign launch we will start sending digital restriction tweets
from
the official account on a daily basis, and we already have a long list,
including translations.
But most of them are at least one year old and some fresher examples
would be
more engaging.
In case you missed the concept the first time around: each day a new tweet,
plus translation(s), will be published on the @TheyDontWant account. Each
tweet contains an example of an unnecessary technical restriction on users,
with a link to an independent news article about it (the more widely
known the
source, the better).
Please contribute any restrictions you've heard of recently to the pad here:
https://public.pad.fsfe.org/p/TheyDontWantYouTo_restrictions
Best,
Sam.

Hi, so I am pretty much better now and back to planning the Cryptoparty.
*Here is where we are**:*
The date is booked for the 7th of December in Madlb from 2-6
The website is up but needs designing http://www.cryptoparty-mcr.org/
The flyer is nearly finished - a low-res version can be downloaded here
http://ethical-pets.co.uk/themes/ethicalpets/pa_vol/flyer_lowres.jpg
*
**Next Meeting*
We have a general planning meeting on the 4th of November from 7-9
We need to set dates for the tasks below
*Next Tasks*
We need a website-building sprint to get this site done, in the style of
the flyer, and to get info on. Anyone want to meet *Sunday, 12:30 in
nexus* to do this?
Fund Raising: we can only afford the room hire at the moment, we need to
raise some funds to print off the fliers and for food on the day, and
travel bursaries for anyone that needs them. Does anyone have any ideas?
Getting more volunteers: we are short of people who can help mac and
iphone users on the day, plus we need many more people to run workshops.
*Housekeeping*
I made the decision to set up a separate mailing list for this event in
haste, I was a bit stressed and ill at the time but I see now that for
various reasons this list was not a good decision. I would like to
continue the discussions about this event on the FSFE Manchester list
only, if that is okay by everyone. We have only six people on the list,
mostly duplicates. I will move those people over to the Manchester FSFE
list, unless they object by replying to me in this email. Hope that is
all okay.
*Motivation*
Let's get this party started!! It's going to ROCK!
Best
Anna
Hi Everyone,
I just thought I'd introduce myself as I'll be helping Anna organise the
Cryptoparty in December.
My name's Olivia Jardine and I'm an intern at Open Rights Group, which is a
UK-based organisation campaigning to defend our rights on the internet.
I've made a meetup page for the ORG Manchester group, so please feel free
to join it and let me know if you'd like me to add anything to the event
details.

I got a phone call about someone who said we are registered at a "Hair
dresser conference". Just to make sure, anyone of you heard anything
about that?

Matthias

The website is slowly growing now. I made the banner today and have been
working on the theme slowly.
There is a list of bugs to get fixed here
https://pad.fsfe.org/p/cryptoparty-mcr please add to it and work on
anything you think you can fix :)
Off to the pictures now! Popcorn WHOOT!

Hi,
As we didn't get to meet this weekend, what with ogg camp/illness etc, I
am going to be working on the website and flyers over the next few days
instead. If you would like to get involved with this task you would be
most welcome - I will be sitting on the #fsfe IRC on Freenode, please
jump on there to coordinate and say hi too! If you are new to IRC please
ask and I will help you find your way :)
Also, we have a pad here:

Anna
I'll also be at the planning meeting (anyone else fancy a swift pint in Common
before hand ?), but just to let you know I'm up for helping on the day - do
you have a list of prospective sessions you'd like to run ?
