The letters I'll be sending to all MEPs will be simple: reinstate all 
amendments originally made by Parliament previously. To try for 
rejection is hard - 66% of all MEP's need to vote against - and 
simply reinstating all amendments is easy for MEPs as they can rely 
on the logic that if they voted for it last time it's probably good.

I had expected the council of ministers to do something like this 
which is why I stopped campaigning after the first EP vote. However I 
was surprised they really went as pro-patent as they did and 
furthermore acted so contrarily to the EP's will which surely they 
must know will invite a "revenge" response from the EP for second 
reading.

Ok, who knows what happens if the EP restores all its previous 
amendments? Can the commission then simply withdraw the directive 
completely or must they accept it? Can they ignore the EP again?

And when is the second reading? I'd like to do two rounds of letters 
if possible, I'll have income for the first time in two years come 
september.
